….time to get prepared for the inevitable cold, Flu and COVID season. Although, it does seem like we are currently living in a perpetual season of COVID. Unlike cold and Flu, COVID has never really taken a break during the off-season months. The most likely reason for this is that there is so much money to be made with novel therapeutics absent any long term safety trial data. Plus we all know that the media loves to sell FEAR to improve ratings and to keep their Pharma funded advertising.
As part of my work in the profession of dentistry, I have always spent sufficient time talking to patients about prevention as a key element of the care I provide. However, when those measures fail, early treatment for diagnosed conditions is always recommended. The healthcare profession turned this practice on its head over the past two years at the expense of people’s lives while strongly benefitting the bottom line of certain industries. This is one of the many elements of the COVID nonsense that has frustrated and pained me. But, the blessings of COVID are that it opened the eyes of many to the mountain of lies we’ve been fed by our government and the alphabet agencies that are charged with protecting us from harmful practices and products.
In this Substack, I am going to cover some of the best ways to stay healthy this winter. This is by no means an exhaustive list, it is a place to start. It is some lifestyle suggestions for optimal health during the winter months but recommendations that carry through to support and optimize your overall health. As I have read and studied for the past two years on the topics of COVID prevention, I have traveled down many roads that lead to practices and routines we should have in an effort to best care for the amazing bodies God has give us:
Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?
1 Corinthians 6:19
There is NO ONE on this earth that cares more about your health than you! Pharma has no magic pill that will bring you a long life. The best way is to start today, caring for your body like you want to live to a ripe old age with as few health problems as possible.
Let’s begin with some basic lifestyle routines and why they benefit your health. Then we’ll cover specific supplements and therapeutics to have on hand in case you come down with a respiratory viral illness this winter. I would strongly urge you to have these items on hand, scrambling to find them when you get sick just adds to the stress of being ill. Plus, the advantage of treating early cannot be over emphasized!!
Sleep
It really doesn’t get much more basic than prioritizing sleep. Sadly most Americans fall short of the adequate number of hours needed for reparative and restorative sleep. Our immune system, both the adaptive and innate, benefit from adequate amounts of sleep. Research suggests that sleep strengthens immune memory. The interaction of immune system components during sleep reinforces the immune system’s ability to remember how to recognize and react to dangerous antigens. Source
try to prioritize 7-8 hours of sleep nightly
Exercise
We all know that daily activity is good for calorie burning and maintenance of optimal weight. Exercise also helps to improve our mood and helps to prevent depression. But exercise also aids our immune system and our body’s ability to ward off infections. During and after physical exercise, pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines are released, lymphocyte circulation increases, as well as cell recruitment. Such practice has an effect on the lower incidence, intensity of symptoms and mortality in viral infections observed in people who practice physical activity regularly. Source
try to prioritize at least 30 minutes of physical activity daily (walking, running, cycling, lifting, etc)
Diet
There is monumental evidence that the American diet of highly processed foods is not only damaging to our waistlines but also to a properly functioning immune systems. Research suggests that Western-type diets induce inflammation and alter immune system function, promoting disease development. In contrast, diets rich in whole foods, such as vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes, and seafood, and low in ultra-processed foods can reduce disease risk and promote healthy immune function. Source
try to prioritize a diet low in processed foods by eating more nuts, vegetables, fruits and seafood. A good thing to remember, is to shop the peripheral aisles of the grocery store.
Get Outside
Over the past couple of decades, there seems to have been a very coordinated effort to demonize the sun despite there being historical evidence to the contrary. In addition to making the sun out to be an enemy, our lifestyles have naturally forced us into a more indoor way of living. I wrote previously how beneficial it is to our mood and our health to get OUTSIDE! There is more benefit than just Vitamin D production from the sun’s rays. You can read about this in more detail here…
try to get outside for at least 30 minutes every day
Other Steps For Prevention
There is so much more that I could write on the topic of general health and plan to do so in future Unpacking Truths. Let’s move on to supplements that support a healthy immune system and are beneficial to fighting off viral infections this winter. In this section, I will list what the FLCCC recommends both for prevention as well as early treatment if you should become sick. I will throw in some additional practices that I have implemented that I feel have helped me to stay healthy despite my face being 18 inches from 20-30 patients breathing on me daily.
The list of items below are additional measures you can take this winter to help avoid getting sick. If you do start to come down with a respiratory viral illness, these items may help to minimize your time experiencing sickness and get you back to feeling yourself more quickly. The items sourced below are from Dr. Mercola and FLCCC.
Vitamin D This is likely the most crucial vitamin to be taking this winter. There are many, many studies that show that low Vitamin D levels lead to more serious COVID 19 outcomes. Aside from insulin resistance, Vitamin D deficiency as emerged as a primary risk factor for severe COVID 19 infections and death. Many Americans are Vitamin D deficient due to the overuse of sunscreens, our indoor lifestyles and our diets of heavily processed foods. Vitamin D regulates many other cellular functions in your body. Its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and neuro-protective properties support immune health, muscle function and brain cell activity. For optimal health outcomes this winter, I would encourage you to have your Vitamin D levels checked by your doctor and target a goal serum blood level of 50ng/ml
Prevention protocol Vitamin D3 3000-5000 IU/day
Vitamin C We all know Vitamin C is crucial for a healthy immune system. Its basic properties include anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, immunomodulatory, antithrombitic and antiviral activities. Vitamin C can act as an antiviral drug, actively inactivating viruses when taken in high doses. Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin which means you essentially eliminate the excess in your urine. For best immune stimulating results, it is recommended that you take this vitamin twice daily.
Prevention protocol Vitamin C 500-1000mg twice daily.
Zinc This is a key mineral that plays a vital role in our immune system's ability to ward off viral infections. It functions by aiding immune cell production, like T cells and white bloods cells that help our bodies fight off disease. Zinc has been shown to reduce the severity and duration of viral infections such as the common cold. In 2010 Zinc used in combination with an ionophore (Quercetin, see below) was shown to inhibit SARS coronavirus in vitro. Zinc deficiency has been shown to impair immune function.
Prevention protocol Elemental Zinc 15-30mg/day
Quercetin is known as an ionophore and it is responsible for making Zinc more bioavailable to our cells. This in turn helps reduce a virus's ability to infect cells, it reduces the replication of already infected cells and helps to inhibit platelet aggregation. Abnormal clotting is something COVID patients experience.
Prevention protocol Quercetin 250mg/day
Melatonin serves as an anti-inflammatory, it has anti-oxidative properties and antiviral effects. Melatonin has benefits of reducing inflammation and possibly curbing the cytokine storm caused by SARS-CoV-2. In a preventative protocol it can act as an agent that equips the body to better fight viral infection by decreasing ACE 2 receptor surface expression and decreasing viral replication.
Prevention Protocol Melatonin 6mg before bed
Nasal Irrigation it has been long understood that respiratory viruses enter through the mouth and nose. An excellent prevention (and early treatment measure) is to do a daily irrigation of the nasal passages using a saline solution. This takes just a couple of minutes to do daily and can help to reduce viral load and prevent infections. You can read more about the benefits HERE. I would recommend THIS product to purchase.
Irrigate nasal passages once daily with saline rinse
Molecular Iodine Nasal Spray/Oral Rinse Iodine has been used in medicine for centuries as a surface disinfectant. The virucidal properties of iodine make it a powerful tool of prevention and early treatment. I personally use and supply to my staff & patients a molecular iodine nasal spray and oral rinse. These products do NOT need to be diluted or reconstituted as is recommended when using Betadine. You can purchase these items HERE.
Oral Rinse: swish/gargle for 60 seconds once daily for prevention. Increase to 4 times per day if feeling ill.
Nose Spray: two puffs each nostril daily for prevention. Increase to 4 times per day if feeling ill.
Nebulized H2O2 Symptomatic COVID has many different presentations. The list of symptoms could have you thinking that you are daily coming down with COVID. Symptoms as minor as a headache or to the severity of not being able to breathe. If you develop chest congestion, nebulized H2O2 can help reduce inflammation and allow for easier breathing. H2O2 is known to create an oxygen rich environment which is lethal to respiratory viruses. I am going to provide written instructions below with links of where to purchase. You can watch a video on how to do this HERE.
Step 1: Normalized saline If you do not have this available the solution can be made using 1 tsp of salt dissolved into 16oz of distilled water.
Step 2: Food grade H2O2. If you are using a 12% solution, add 3/4 of a teaspoon to 16 oz of normalized saline. If you are using a 3% food grade solution, add 3 tsps of food grade H2O2 to 16 oz of normalized saline. Purchase HERE.
Keep your solution in a marked jar, in the refrigerator. When needed, you will nebulize 5cc or about 1 tsp of the solution every hour awake at the peak of your symptoms. As symptoms improve, nebulize every 4-6 hours. This treatment should not be used for prevention but it can be used prophylactically if you think you have been exposed to someone who is sick. Purchase nebulizer HERE.
Aspirin Once the SARS CoV2 virus begins to replicate and cause symptomatic immune response, one of the more concerning natures of the body's response is coagulation and blood clotting concerns. COVID pneumonia is due to micro blood clots in the lungs. Aspirin is a mild over the counter blood thinning medication and is recommended as part of treatment when sick unless otherwise contraindicated.
Aspirin 325 mg/daily
Ivermectin is on the World Health Organization’s list of essential medicines. In 2015 the Nobel Prize was awarded to the two men who discovered this drug. It’s benefit in treating viral illness is that it works as an RNA polymerase inhibitor. Essentially, it can help to prevent the replication of the virus at the cellular level. In the US, a prescription is required to take Ivermectin. Many chain pharmacies will not fill but smaller compounding pharmacies are available. An online source to purchase outside the US and have shipped to you can be found HERE. For further reading on the most defiled and censored drug, see HERE.
Dosing instructions for prevention: 0.2 mg/kg – start treatment with one dose, take second dose 48 hours later, then 1 dose every 7 days (weekly).
Those at high risk of contracting COVID-19 can consider dosing twice a week.Dosing instructions for treatment: 0.3 to 0.6 mg/kg – one dose daily for at least 5 days or until symptoms resolve.
When I started writing Unpacking Truth over a year ago, I set out to provide information to readers that wasn’t easily available in the mainstream news. As the Substack platform has grown, there are many, many talented journalists and researchers writing who can provide you with a profound wealth of information. It now feels like there is a firehose of information pouring out daily and many of your inboxes are burdened with more to read than you have time to consume. I do not want to overfill your inbox and will send out Unpacking with less frequency to be mindful of your time. There is still so much truth to unpack and I am grateful for this opportunity to be part of a growing group of awakened citizens.
Great post! Speaking of healthy lifestyles, over a decade ago my wife had severe allergies. She could hardly go outside with her inhaler. Most "good" foods she was allergic to (many fruits and vegetables, legumes, the list was exhaustive.) Her wise and knowledgeable doctor (hint of sarcasm) prescribed her medication: Zyrtec when she woke up (at the time it was prescription only). Singulair during the day when she could not breath, and inhaler for emergencies, which happened daily because of the horse hay close to our house, and Benadryl at night. She was a walking zombie for years. She met a group of ladies, one who beat cancer from changing her lifestyle, and my wife took note. She cleaned up her diet (I wont get into details, since this is long enough already), and 1 year later she was off all meds. And now, a decade + later, she is not on a single medication. Some allergies have lingered, but 99% cleared up. It was then she lost faith in doctors. Today she still refuses to see a doctor. Our cousin is a nurse and we learned a long time ago, a doctors office is not a place of healing, but a legal drug cartel. My wife enjoys a medicine free life, and is very vibrant these days!
Sorry for the silence the past few months! I am trying to determine the right direction for Unpacking. It seems the COVID narrative is being firmly covered across a plethora of platforms and I want to be sensitive to everyone’s overloaded inboxes.
I am working on a couple of pieces to send out in the next few weeks. Merry Christmas 🎄 to you!
