Excellent post, Jessica! I agree that much blame for our current situation can be attributed to our silence as believers in Jesus Christ. The video is a cautionary tale about what comes next if we don't stand up. I commend you for taking a stand. It's only going to get worse from here. We need to remember that whatever comes next, DO NOT COMPLY.

I’m sure that it’s difficult to lose patients or receive negative reviews for you standing up for your faith. But like you said if Christians who are called to be the light, do not shine the light of Jesus in this dark world, who else will do it. I am proud of you for standing for Christ and I encourage you to keep on doing it!!

For the past 8 or 9 years we have been playing K-Love or other Christian radio in our office and we have a prayer jar in the waiting room. I have Christian devotional books that I have written for sale at the front desk. A lot of our social media posts have Christian ideals embedded in them. When someone spends time in our practice, they undoubtedly know what we are about. My practice is in a small rural town where my patient base is mostly Christian so it’s easier for me to take a stand for Christ compared to Chapel Hill where there is a more liberal population. I don’t say all this to boast but only to encourage you to keep fighting the good fight because you are not alone. I have had some negative comments over the years and had some patients leave because of it, but mostly the Christian atmosphere that we provide is met with positive reactions. Again, it’s a lot easier where I practice compared to your location.

I don’t see you changing your message or shying away from standing up for your faith. But I did want to send you a message to encourage you to continue your fight and let you know that you are not alone. I would rather offend someone by standing up for Jesus, than try to appease someone and push Him to the side. I’m sure you feel the same.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I love hearing the boldness of others and helping learn other ways to share the love of Christ. How does one obtain a copy of your Christian devotional?

I’ve written 7 in total. The first six I self published and you can find them on Amazon. At the time of those, I partnered with a local ministry called Beyond Limits that did podcasts and videos and I wrote those to go along with the podcasts. That ministry is no longer active but the books are still available on Amazon. They are mostly topical and discuss a wide range of subjects. You could just search my name and beyond limits devotions and find those. The last one I wrote was actually published by a Christian book company (Christian Faith Publishing). It is a 40 day devotional through the Tabernacle. You can find that online at Barnes and Nobles or Amazon. I’ll attach the link below. It’s available in paper and digital formats.

Great response to your critic! Glad to see your post -- I haven't had time to keep up with everything as I've been bogged down with my father's post-stroke care and recovery, but so glad I got to see your recent post here. We just got a new live-in caregiver for my father - a caregiver who is a person of the Christian faith after the previous one - a man who believed in ET's and listened to psychics - quit on me. I prayed and many others prayed for us to find someone else to care for my father when I cannot do so myself, and I prayed that it be a person of faith, and indeed we have been blessed to find such a person! My father used to always preach about the power of prayer. I am glad our prayers have been answered! While our faith has been sorely tested these past 1.5 years now, I believe we are growing stronger from our trials. Isn't that the way it works? And yes, bringing light to the darkness...

Jessica, thank you for standing firm in your Chrisitan faith and for being ready to defend what you believe... even if it would cost you a patient!
