You Have Failed

Today is the day that a team of dentists gather to meet with the leaders of the our state dental society to discuss our concerns with how our profession handled the pandemic. The six of us have committed countless hours to our research in an effort to be well informed so that we may operate our private dental practices, keeping our patients, staff and families safe. But, mostly our hearts are burdened and we want to help educate those around us about the madness being perpetrated to instill fear and relinquish control of our inalienable rights.

One of the many beauties of being a dentist, is the autonomy our profession still has over those in medicine. Even though the leaders in our field did not do the heavy lifting of discussing emerging science, we could do so ourselves and practice dentistry in the way we saw best fit to serve our patient populations. The ‘elite’ in dentistry have failed us and today we call attention to this in an effort to preserve the trust in our profession. We hope to have a respectful discussion and open the minds and hearts of these individuals so that this NEVER happens again!

We wrote a 40 page position paper and I plan to share this in section with my readers in the coming days. But, we might have been able to save our breath and write something a bit more succinct, like THIS written by professor Udi Qimron, Faculty of Medicince Tel Aviv University:

In the end, the truth will always be revealed, and the truth about the coronavirus policy is beginning to be revealed. When the destructive concepts collapse one by one, there is nothing left but to tell the experts who led the management of the pandemic – we told you so.

Two years late, you finally realize that a respiratory virus cannot be defeated and that any such attempt is doomed to fail. You do not admit it, because you have admitted almost no mistake in the last two years, but in retrospect it is clear that you have failed miserably in almost all of your actions, and even the media is already having a hard time covering your shame.

And perhaps his most important points, the destruction in our trust of public health officials and the hell that was inflicted on our innocent children. This latter point is the fire that burns in me to commit so much time to research and writing.

However, from the heights of your hubris, you have also ignored the fact that in the end the truth will be revealed. And it begins to be revealed. The truth is that you have brought the public’s trust in you to an unprecedented low, and you have eroded your status as a source of authority. The truth is that you have burned hundreds of billions of shekels to no avail – for publishing intimidation, for ineffective tests, for destructive lockdowns and for disrupting the routine of life in the last two years.

You have destroyed the education of our children and their future. You made children feel guilty, scared, smoke, drink, get addicted, drop out, and quarrel, as school principals around the country attest. You have harmed livelihoods, the economy, human rights, mental health and physical health.
