Happy Valentine’s Day! My husband and I are spending our Valentine evening together at a medical freedom conference where I have been asked to present our Position Paper to a group of medical professionals. Not quite the romantic dinner others will enjoy tonight but I am grateful for my husband’s patience with me as I am given this opportunity to take a stand for the doctor/patient relationship and ultimately the freedom to make our own independent medical decisions.
I have never done anything like this before. I never thought as a dentist I would be speaking to a group of doctors. I have never wanted to make PowerPoint presentations and speak to large groups of people. But the discovery of the lies we have lived through has awakened me and I am grateful for an outlet to express my passion, to share my research and to work together with other healthcare professionals in this battle as we take a stand for the oath we took.
At its foundation, our Position Paper is a commitment to the Hippocratic Oath we all took at the ceremonies celebrating the completion of our training and the commencement of our careers in providing patient care. We all took this oath but as history demonstrates, some have clearly forgotten or ignored what they promised their patients.
Let’s start with a part of our history that has some parallels to what we are living through today. Critics will say that it is insensitive to the Holocaust victims to draw this comparison but we must remember, that the path to mass extermination did not occur in an overnight stranglehold of the medical profession. It took years of training and ‘reprogramming’ these doctors to be able to allow them to be integral in the atrocities that were seen in Germany during WWII.
This piece was sent to be by a friend, it was written in February of 2001. If you did not know the date of the article, you would think it was written today as a reminder of what can happen….(emphasis was added in BOLD
The German medical profession bore and promoted the belief that curing patients was one thing but to heal the nation was incomparably more important: ‘The maintenance of a genetically homogeneous and healthy stock of the German people is the main duty of the German physician’. The vast majority of the German medical profession were willing to adopt the ideas of race hygiene; many even went further and perverted them into applied racism. Race hygiene had been initially developed by and was later entrusted to the German medical profession. To a large degree, the medical profession was not politicized but politics were medicalized.
They sent out questionnaires to psychiatric and other hospitals urging doctors to name candidates for euthanasia. These patients were then transported to specialized centres where they were gassed or poisoned and subsequently cremated. Others were executed through lethal injections or starvation in psychiatric hospitals. Hitler himself discontinued the programme on 24 August 1941, following increasing opposition from both the general population and the clergy. The medical profession's protest to these activities (see below) was minimal and ineffective.
Should doctors, through their Hippocratic oath, not have been the ideal and natural profession to oppose? And should they not have been aware of what was going on? Several reasons are usually offered to explain this apparent contradiction….
Doctors might simply not have been aware of what was going on. Clearly not everyone knew everything and some may indeed have known very little. But generally speaking, the profession as such was in an excellent position to realize at least some crucial facts, particularly as not a small proportion was being published in official German medical journals. If doctors did not know, it must have been because they did not want to know.
Now compare this history with what is happening all over the world today. Largely, the medical profession has been silent to the atrocities of allowing humans to die at the expense of dictate from the government agencies that are controlled by an industry that has been 100% shielded from liability. The similarities are eerie but unlike WWII, there is no hero nation that is going to come save us. Certainly the Canadians are showing some bravery at the moment but that is not going to save us from the destruction of what is happening in our country. We have been slowly creeping away from our faith in God and that has opened the door for a broader belief that Government is the ultimate power. With no God and no moral compass, it is easy to see how so many may fall prey to ‘obeying orders’ versus ‘standing as resistance’.
Living through this Orwellian period, we are growing accustomed to the constant changing of definitions. But did you know that they are even daring to change the wording of the Hippocratic Oath? God has been completely removed and is no longer mentioned. Dr. Goldsmith does a great job of bringing together Nazi Germany and the changing of the Hippocratic Oath in this article.
God has vanished. (One cannot even play God if there is no God to imagine.) Not that ethical healers must worship God. But if they don’t, they may worship other gods—security, status, money, power, reputation, or ideology. These baser idols will corrupt their devotees.
Since 2020 an even more powerful master has commandeered medicine’s values. The State requires that physicians comply with its unscientific dictates concerning treatments. Many do comply, and no wonder. The confusion about medicine’s purpose in recent decades has lubricated its slide into surrender. It has forsaken Hippocrates and signed onto a State-uber-alles mentality to ensure its security and public virtue. Do No Harm has been supplanted by Cover Your Ass.
Keep fighting Jessica. You have more folks behind you than you know and some of us are willing to be pariahs to our own kin.
Thank you for all you do and say. Your bravery is appreciated and respected.
